Specification
1. Scope
These robust cables are crafted and rigorously tested, adhering meticulously to the high standards set forth by IEC60502. Designed as Power Cables with Extruded Insulation, they come complete with accessories, ideal for rated voltages ranging seamlessly from 1kV (Um 1.2 kV) up to an impressive 30kV (Um 36kV).. Whereas, Greatwall Cable is equipped to provide XLPE insulation cables, not only in accordance with globally acknowledged national and international standards but also tailored to customized specifications.
2. Construction and Material
1) Conductor
The conductors utilized are typically class 2, comprising compacted circular or circular standard conductors, crafted from either copper or aluminium, ensuring flexibility and durability.
2) Conductor Screen
Every cable rated for a voltage exceeding 1.8/3kV is equipped with a conductor screen that is non-mentallic, comprising either a semi-conducting tape or an extruded semi-conducting compound layer, or even a blend of both for enhanced performance and reliability. combination of the two.
3) Insulation
This insulation consists of a layer of extruded cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), which offers remarkable thermal stability and resistance toshock and moisture.
4) Insulation Screen
For cables with rated voltages exceeding 1.8/3kV , the insulation screen consists of a non-metallic semi-conducting element combined with a metallic layer, crafted from semi-conducting tape or an extruded semi-conducting compound. This meticulously designed extrusion is often easy to strip but can also come in a bonded version upon request..
The metallic component is typically applied to each core for voltages above 1.8/3kV and to the core assembly for voltages of 1.8/3kV and comprises plain annealed copper tape. Alternatively, a copper tape screen, a layer of copper wire, a lead alloy, or a corrugated aluminum sheath can be provided on request to meet specific requirements.
5) Inner Covering or Separation Sheath
(for armored cables)
A robust PVC inner covering is applied beneath the armor when there is no screen in place, ensuring added protection.
In cases where the metallic screening and armor comprise different metals, an extruded PVC separation sheath is meticulously employed to prevent metal interaction.
6) Metallic Armor
The armor, when required, consists of a single layer of round wires or double tapes manufactured from galvanized steel, aluminum, or other non-magnetic metals. Single core cables often feature aluminum armor (or other non-magnetic metals) to ensure non-magnetic protection for use on A.C circuits.
7) Outer Sheath
Every cable is meticulously crafted with an extruded PVC outer sheath, elegantly black in color (class ST2), ensuring top-notch quality. Alternative materials are available to meet diverse needs, including PE, polyethylene, and high-performance fire or flame retardant PVC, among others.
8) Core Identification
The intricately designed multiple conductors are distinctively marked according to the esteemed IEC60502 standards, ensuring reliability and precision.
Essential information is thoughtfully displayed on the outer sheath's surface, with options for bespoke customization to fit specific requirements.
