Specification
1. Scope
The cables are manufactured and meticulously tested following the stringent guidelines of IEC60502. Power Cables with state-of-the-art Extruded Insulation and their accessories crafted for rated voltages from 1kV (Um1.2 kV) up to an impressive 30kV (Um 36kV).. Whereas, Greatwall Cable proudly offers XLPE insulation cables that meet other renowned national and international standards, or can be customized to your exact needs.ized specification.
2. Construction and Material
1) Conductor
Conductors are expertly engineered as normally class 2, either compacted circular or circular standard conductors, made from premium copper or aluminium.
2) Conductor Screen
All cables with a rated voltage surpassing 1.8/3kV come equipped with a superior conductor screening, which is non-mentallic, consisting of either a semi-conducting tape or a layer of extruded semi-conducting compound, or a combination of these advanced materials.
3) Insulation
Insulation is a sophisticated layer of extruded cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE),ensuring superior performance and reliability.
4) Insulation Screen
For cables at rated voltages above 1.8/3kV , the insulation screening features a non-metallic semi-conducting part combined with a metallic layer. This may include semi-conducting tape or a layer of extruded semi-conducting compound, offering unmatched flexibility. The extruded insulation screen is typically of the free strippable (easy removable) type, though a bonded version can be provided upon request..
The metallic component is generally applied to individual cores for rated voltages above 1.8/3kV and to the core assembly for rated voltages of 1.8/3kV and is made of plain annealed copper tape. Alternatively, upon request, a copper tape screen, a layer of copper wire, or a lead alloy or corrugated aluminum sheath can be provided.
5) Inner Covering or Separation Sheath
(for armored cables)
A protective layer of PVC inner covering is applied beneath the armor if there is no screen present.
When the metallic screening and armor consist of different metals, an extruded separation sheath of PVC is provided to ensure optimal separation and integrity of differing metals.
6) Metallic Armor
The armor, when required, is meticulously crafted from a single layer of round wires or double tapes, utilizing galvanized steel or aluminum, as well as other non-magnetic metals. For single-core cables, the armor is preferentially aluminum or other non-magnetic metals, as this is essential for effective performance in A.C. circuits, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
7) Outer Sheath
In our cable design, the outer sheath is typically an extruded PVC, tinted in a sleek black (class ST2). Upon special request, alternative materials such as PE, polyethylene, or high flame and fire-retardant PVC can be provided, offering versatility and enhanced protection.
8) Core Identification
The meticulous identification of multiple conductors is conducted in strict accordance with the internationally recognized IEC60502 standard, ensuring consistent quality and reliability.
The outer sheath surface proudly displays essential information. Moreover, our marking can be fully customized to meet your specific needs.
