Specification
1. Scope
The cables are meticulously manufactured and rigorously tested in compliance with the international standard IEC60502, ensuring unfaltering performance and reliability. These Power Cables, featuring robust extruded insulation, are designed for a range of rated voltages from 1kV (Um 1.2 kV) up to an impressive 30kV (Um 36kV), making them suitable for a variety of demanding applications.. Whereas, Greatwall Cable is adept at supplying high-quality XLPE insulation cables crafted to meet other recognized national and international standards or tailored to your unique specifications, ized specification.
2. Construction and Material
1) Conductor
Conductors are expertly constructed and generally adhere to class 2, featuring compacted circular or circular stranded configurations, normally class 2 of compacted circular or circular stranded conductors of copper or aluminium, ensuring excellent electrical conductivity.
2) Conductor Screen
All cables designed for a rated voltage exceeding 1.8/3kV come equipped with a superior conductor screening that is non-mentallic and comprises either a highly effective semi-conducting tape or a layer of extruded semi-conducting compound, or an innovative combination of both, ensuring optimal performance. combination of the two.
3) Insulation
The insulation consists of a precision-engineered layer of extruded cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), providing exceptional dielectric properties and resilience.
4) Insulation Screen
For cables with a rated voltage exceeding 1.8/3kV , the insulation screening integrates a state-of-the-art non-metallic semi-conducting component paired with a metallic layer, crafted from either semi-conducting tape or an extruded semi-conducting compound.. This extruded insulation screen is typically of a free-strippable (easy removable) type, but can be customized with a bonded form upon request..
The metallic component is usually applied to individual cores for cables rated above 1.8/3kV and to the core assembly for cables rated at 1.8/3kV and typically involves plain annealed copper tape. Alternatively, a copper tape screen, a layer of copper wire, a lead alloy, or a corrugated aluminum sheath can be provided upon request for enhanced durability and conductivity.
5) Inner Covering or Separation Sheath
(for armored cables)
A dependable layer of PVC inner covering is meticulously applied beneath the armor, in the absence of a screen.
When the metallic screening and the armor consist of different metals, an expertly extruded separation sheath of PVC is introduced to effectively segregate the distinct metals, ensuring integrity and performance.
6) Metallic Armor
The armor, if specified, is meticulously crafted from a single layer of round wires or a robust double tape assembly, utilizing galvanized steel, aluminum, or other non-magnetic metals. For single-core cables, the armor is typically fashioned from aluminum or similar non-magnetic materials, as this is crucial for maintaining optimal performance in A.C circuits.
7) Outer Sheath
All cables feature a standard extruded PVC outer sheath in a classic black (class ST2). Alternative materials such as PE, polyethylene, and high flame or fire-retardant PVC are available upon request, catering to specific needs and enhancing performance.
8) Core Identification
The multiple conductors are distinctly marked in accordance with IEC60502 standards, ensuring easy identification and seamless integration into various systems.
Essential information is expertly embossed on the outer sheath surface. There is flexibility for customization to suit specific requirements.
